The Perfect Family Getaway

Sean, Katherine and their family have owned Cobb & Co Nine Mile Camping Grounds for the last 14 years, in this time they have built it from the ground up, developing it into the Perfect Family getaway featuring un-powered camping and Luxury Tents. All Luxury tent layouts are designed and built by Sean & Katherine themselves as well as the unique pirate ship playground and all other facilities on the grounds.

Cobb & Co has wonderful Caretakers Donna, Hamish and Family. They will usually be faces you’ll see around the park, plus all of the other wonderful staff.

Sean & Katherine still own and manage Cobb & Co, you’ll just see them around the park a little less.

Cobb and Co Nine Mile Camping Grounds is 50 lush acres situated on the Six Mile Creek just south of Gympie.

This HISTORIC location is the site of the old Cobb and Co Horse Change Stables. It was the first stop on the stage coach run from Gympie to Noosa which ran from 1878.

Down at the creek are the remains of the old bridge that serviced the bullock teams, railroad workers, bridge builders and where the train passengers disembarked to catch the stage coach to Noosa and then by steamship (The Gulgoa) to Brisbane.

Close by is the site of Queensland’s worst train derailment, the Rocky Mail Train disaster where 10 people lost their lives in 1925.

Learn tales of tough pioneers, railroad navies, drunken miners, bushrangers, hidden gold and skillful stage coach drivers with their dry humor that helped forge this land in the late 1800’s.

The friendly staff at Cobb & Co look forward to welcoming you!
